Fees

(as of 1st July 2026)

***We are not a bulk billing practice***

Anyone can book an appointment, with or without a referral.

Dr Stemm endeavours to keep her session charge below that which is currently recommended by the Australian Association of Psychologists ($330 per hour). Fees are listed below, as well as the out-of-pocket amount with a valid Mental Health Care Plan. Further Medicare rebate details are also detailed below the fee schedule.

Standard Consultation (50 Minutes)

  • Face-to-face: $295
($150 out-of-pocket cost with a valid Mental Health Care Plan or Psychiatry Referral)

  • Telehealth/Phone: $295
($150 out-of-pocket cost with a valid Mental Health Care Plan or Psychiatry Referral)

Extended Consultation (80 Minutes) (available only when clinically indicated and subject to availability)

  • Face-to-Face: $437

  • Telehealth/Phone: $437

Clinical Supervision

  • $272 per hour

Letters/Reports/Phone calls

  • Letters and reports attract a fee commensurate with the AAPI Recommended Fees (currently set at $330+GST per hour, pro-rata).

  • Phone calls which occur frequently, or are more than 10 minutes long will also attract the AAPI recommended fee, pro-rata.

  • There is no charge for standard Medicare reports which are considered a normal component of treatment under a valid referral (mental health care plan, eating disorders management plan, or chronic disease management plan).

Late Cancellation Fees

  • Due to the high demand for Psychology Services, we require 24 hours notice for cancellations (or, for Monday appointments, please let us know before close of business on Fridays).

  • LESS THAN 24 HOURS NOTICE:
If this notice is not provided and the appointment time can not be filled from our waitlist, a 75% charge of the full fee will be applied ($221).

  • NON-ATTENDANCE FEES
In the event that you fail to attend a scheduled appointment without giving any notice, the full clinical fee will be applied ($295).

  • Medicare and private health rebates can not be applied to cancellation/no show fees.

  • All cancellation fees must be paid prior to future appointments.

NB: Our cancellation policy supports the sustainability of our practice and helps ensure availability for all clients.

Cancellation fees apply when appointments are cancelled late and cannot be filled, regardless of the reason. As we cannot fairly assess the validity of one reason over another, this policy is applied consistently.

If you are unwell, a telehealth appointment can be arranged. Please contact us to discuss this option

Third Party Funding

Third party Claims such as Workcover, NDIS, and Insurance can not be processed directly via the third party (with the exception of DVA). At Stemm Psychology, we acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we work, the Turrbal and Jaggera people, whose land was stolen nearly 250 years ago.  We recognise their continuing connection to land, water and culture, and we pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging. We also extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
